@vijith0126, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Based on your issue with your HP Notebook 15-bs015dx after upgrading to Windows 11 and installing a 256GB SSD, it sounds like there may be a few underlying causes preventing updates and Microsoft Store apps from working properly.
Let’s walk through a step-by-step solution to get your system back on track:
Check Windows Activation
After a major hardware change (like SSD replacement), Windows might not be activated.
- Go to Settings > System > Activation.
- Ensure Windows is activated. If not, click Troubleshoot and follow the prompts.
Run Windows Update Troubleshooter
This tool can automatically detect and fix update issues.
- Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Find Windows Update and click Run.
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Reset Microsoft Store
This will clear cache and fix app issues.
- Press Windows + R, type wsreset.exe, and press Enter.
- A blank Command Prompt window will open and close after a few seconds. The Microsoft Store will then launch automatically.
Reinstall Microsoft Store (if needed)
If the Store still doesn’t work:
- Right-click Start and select Windows Terminal (Admin).
- Paste the following command and press Enter:
Get-AppxPackage -allusers *WindowsStore* | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
Install HP Drivers and BIOS Updates
After hardware changes, it's crucial to update drivers.
- Visit the official HP support page for your model: Official HP® Support
- Download and install:
- HP Support Assistant
- Chipset drivers
- Storage drivers
- BIOS update (if available)
Check for Corrupted System Files
Run System File Checker:
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
- Type:
sfc /scannow
Let it complete and follow any repair instructions.
Optional – Clean Install Windows 11
If issues persist, a clean install might be the best option:
- Use the Windows 11 Media Creation Tool:
Download Windows 11 - Create a bootable USB and reinstall Windows on the SSD.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
