I just got a new computer and the keyboard that came with it the fn key seems to be locked.  None of the fn1-fn12 keys do anything.  Not sure if it is the keyboard or operating system trouble.

@Suni73, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Restart your computer.

When it starts turning back on, press Esc or F10 repeatedly to open the BIOS menu.

In the BIOS:

Look for Action Keys Mode.

Change it to Disabled.

Press F10 to save and exit.

Now, the F1–F12 keys should work normally without holding Fn.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
