HP 21 All-In-One PC Model 21-b0107a
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

My all-in-one worked well with Win10 to have a second monitor connected via USB port and HDMI cable of the monitor.

As no HDMI port on PC, used USB 3.0 and HDMI adaptor for the second monitor.

But the PC can't detect the second monitor after updated to Win11. Nothing physically changed, just software update.

Can anyone advise how to solve the problem?

Thank you very much.

Hi @Busyasbee

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand how frustrating it must be to lose external monitor detection after upgrading to Windows 11, especially since it worked fine on Windows 10

Since your HP 21 All-In-One PC relies on a USB 3.0 to HDMI adapter, the issue likely stems from driver compatibility or Windows 11 display settings.

1. Check USB-to-HDMI Adapter Compatibility

  • Some USB-to-HDMI adapters require updated drivers for Windows 11.
  • Visit the manufacturer’s website for the latest Windows 11-compatible driver.

2. Update Display & USB Drivers

  • Visit the HP Support page for your HP 21-b0107a.
  • Download and install the latest graphics driver and USB controller driver.

3. Manually Detect the Monitor

  • Open SettingsSystemDisplay.
  • Scroll down and click Detect under Multiple Displays.

4. Check Display Output Settings

  • Right-click on the desktopDisplay settings.
  • Ensure Extend these displays is selected instead of PC screen only.

5. Test with a Different USB Port

  • Try connecting the USB-to-HDMI adapter to a different USB 3.0 port.

6. Roll Back to Windows 10 Drivers

  • Open Device ManagerDisplay Adapters.
  • Right-click on the graphics driverPropertiesDriver tab.
  • Click Roll Back Driver (if available).

Let me know how it goes, and I’ll be happy to assist further! I appreciate your patience while we work through this.
